2017 Cabernet Franc

2017 was the second vintage we produced a red wine from Cabernet Franc. These grapes come from the same Bell Vineyard that we produce our dry Rosé (Rosato) from. To produce the Rosato we harvest early and press after only a few hours of skin contact. For the red wine the grapes are harvested about 3 weeks later and go through extended maceration (~50 days of skin contact). A unique experience to compare production styles of Cabernet Franc: from the very light Rosé, a light bodied (yet structured red) in 2016, and a fuller bodied red wine in 2017. All three are 100% single-vineyard, single-varietal, Cabernet Franc that are true to place.
