First Friday Guest Artist: Cary Wolfson

Cary’s work has received many awards from the Flatirons Photo Club; he has exhibited as part of numerous juried shows; and took first prize in the Landscape and Architecture category at the 2010 Louisville Art Association National Photo Show. In 2012 four of his images were selected for the Louisville show, with one taking a third place award. He has put on shows at various venues around Boulder County.

 

Since 1997 he has been on the faculty of Common Ground on the Hill Music and Arts Camp in Westminster, Maryland, where most recently he has taught classes on iPhoneography, Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop, as well as providing instruction on the history of the Blues, the culture of New Orleans, and radio production. His radio show, Blues From the Red Rooster Lounge, appeared for 32 years on KBCO and is still aired on four other stations around the country. He currently produces Blues Bites From the Red Rooster Lounge for 105.5, The Colorado Sound. He was also one of the pioneers of KGNU Community Radio and still does a bi-monthly morning show there called Groovin’ for Geezers. He was the editor and publisher of BLUES ACCESS Magazine from 1990-2002.
