A quick reminder, if you have a wine-lover on your gift giving list we offer Gift Certificates that can be purchased at our on-line wineshop and either emailed or printed to the lucky recipient. Gift Certificates can be redeemed on-line or in the Tasting Room.

Urban Picnic

Wineries that are located away from their vineyards are often called "Urban Wineries". Since our Grand Opening we've added plenty of indoor seating, and so, invite you to join us for an "Urban Picnic". You bring the food, we've got the wine. Enjoy a tasting flight, a glass or our favorite: both (save $3)! This is a fantastic option during these wintery months when outdoor picnics are out of the question for most of us. Hint: join us during a Broncos game and you may have the entire place to yourself (how romantic)!

Back to Basics

Beginning December 4th we're thrilled to be adding additional tasting room hours and hosting Back to Basics Kitchen every Thursday from 1-6 PM!
Private EventsBack to Basics offers weekly meal service, highlighting the freshest, locally grown and organic ingredients available. Order on-line Thursday - Monday at 10 AM, pick-up Thursday (1-6PM) at Settembre Cellars.

2014 Vintage

Secondary SortThe 2014 Crush is over, though naturally, matters of a pressing nature remain. The 2014 vintage was a challenge as low temperatures last December on the western slope of Colorado caught growers by surprise and it seemed every fruit update this summer included reduced yields. We were happy with the fruit, but, only received 40% of what we had originally planned to receive. On the bright side, the reduced harvest gave us a little more elbow room and time to fine tune the winery's new home. The first crush in the new facility included another opportunity to continue to push quality with the crush pad being entirely indoors. The fully indoor crush allows us to keep the staged fruit, sort, and fruit itself all at controlled temperatures, well lit, and away from those pesky wasps. The pressing matters? The Cabernet Sauvignon continues extended maceration, the must looks beautiful (kudos to our Crush Crew) and we'll probably start thinking about pressing after Thanksgiving. Here's hoping mother nature is more compassionate in 2015 and we're back to full production; the winery is ready!

In Search of Synergy Pairing
Wondering what our In Search of Synergy Events are all about? For our first Synergy event we worked with our friend Dan Hayward at Boulder's Savory Spice Shop. To prepare, we went to Savory Spice Shop and sampled an astounding number of spices with our Riesling and Sangiovese. We found what worked, what didn't, and what produced amazing synergistic pairings. Then, Dan brought the synergistic spices, and finished recipes, to the Tasting Room to let everyone experience the magic of a synergistic pairings. Here is a synergistic recipe for our Sangiovese, enjoy!
Sangiovese SynergyWe'll be sampling this recipe at our First Friday event on December 5th and can't wait to continue our next In Search of Synergy experience at Oliverde on December 13th!
